The brief

In order to support their product led journey and the retained Head of Product search, Aptem engaged Renoir to provide an Interim Chief Product Officer with responsibility of operationally executing their product roadmap, engaging with customers to address product challenges, hiring and scaling their product team which included coaching and mentoring and providing a transitional handover to ensure the right support provided to their new permanent Head of Product on arrival.

The solution

As with all of our projects we approached the assignment using many different methods. First, our knowledge of the product candidate network within the target company landscape was a key starting point. We also mapped out various relevant businesses, focused on comparable or relevant size/stage of organisation based across the UK.

We approach the most interesting and qualified candidates who are both tried and tested and available immediately or at short notice and from a thoroughly vetted long list of candidates, we interviewed and selected three candidates to have an interview with Richard Alberg.

The selection process then moved quickly to one candidate completing a second interview with the CTO in the same week with the whole process from initial brief to offer taking less than three weeks, with the selected candidate starting their new role as Interim CPO within four weeks.

The outcome

The successful Interim Chief Product Officer was offered and accepted with the whole process from initial brief to offer taking less than four weeks and they have completed 6 months in assignment with a request to extend and continue coaching and mentoring the product team and newly appointed Head of Product.
